How do I upload a video to Kaltura?

There are two primary ways to upload your video or other media to Kaltura through Canvas: the My Media menu and embedding in the Rich Content Editor.
My Media
Kaltura's My Media in Canvas is a space for managing all media that have been uploaded or created over time.
- Log in to Canvas.
- Navigate to "My Media" in the global navigation menu.
- Click the down arrow next to "Add New" and select "Media Upload."
- Select the file for upload.
- Enter the video details, including the Name (video title—required).
- Click "Save."
- You must click save and allow the video to finish uploading before changing the Publishing status.

Rich Content Editor
Kaltura allows instructors to make videos accessible directly through the Rich Content Editor by embedding one or more videos.
- Log in to Canvas.
- Navigate to any content block with a Rich Content Editor (page, assignment, discussion, etc.).
- Click the Edit button.
- From the toolbar, click the plug icon and select "Embed Kaltura Media."
- After doing this once, you should see the Kaltura icon in your toolbar moving forward.
- Identify your desired video and click "Embed."
- Click "Save" or "Save and Publish" on the Canvas page.
