How Can Students See My Feedback in SpeedGrader?

There are multiple ways to add annotations and comments to student submissions.
Annotations
There are various options in the DocViewer Toolbar:
- Point: Drop a pin in the submission and add a comment.
- Highlight text and add a comment.
- Text: Add comments/corrections directly on the document
- Strikeout content on the document.
If you have enabled the Manual Posting Policy, students will not see your feedback or comments until you publish their grades.
Students will instead a message such as:
- Grades are unavailable because the instructor is working on them.
- You may not see all comments right now because the assignment is currently being graded.
Student Access: Annotations
After you post a grade, students access your feedback by:
- Selecting “Grades” in the course navigation menu.
- Selecting an assignment.
- Selecting "View Feedback."
Comments
In Speedgrader, you can add feedback in the right grading pane comment section.
- Assignment: Free-write comments or add comments from the Comment Library
- Rubric: Free-write comments associated with each criterion
Student Access: Comments
After you post a grade, students access your comments by:
- Selecting “Grades” in the course navigation menu.
- Selecting the comment icon.
- If there's a rubric, selecting "Show rubric."
