How do I cross-list / merge my sections?

Cross-listing allows you to move section enrollments from individual courses and combine them into one course. This feature is helpful for instructors who teach several sections of the same course and only want to manage course data in one location. Instructors can allow students to view users in other sections or limit them to only view users in the same section.
Cross-listing courses on Canvas may violate FERPA. If course sections do not meet together and are cross-listed in Canvas, instructors should take steps to ensure compliance with the Family Educational and Privacy Act (FERPA). For guidance please see this article.
Cross-listing should be done before students have interacted with the course, ideally before the course has been published. Student interactions and submissions in the section being moved will no longer be available.
