I exceeded the storage quota in Files, what do I do now?

The culprit here will likely be Powerpoint files that contain images or other multimedia. A single Powerpoint can often take up most of the storage quota, easily exceeding 200 mb in size. A file this large takes a long time to download.

To reduce the file size, try one of the following:

1. Under the File menu in most versions of Powerpoint, there are options to compress the included media files. See the link below for more detail.

2. Save the file as a PDF

3. Save the file as a Powerpoint Show.

Options 2 and 3 have the added benefit of reducing the dependence on a proprietary piece of software.
